Jayce's design is a bit off.
When I first saw Jayce, I felt something was a bit off about him.
Recently, I realized there is a dissonance with his body and his wardrobe. If you look at his outfit, it's distinctly JRPG-like in design - that is, modern Eastern fashion concepts were incorporated into it. I'm not sure if this was intentional, but it clashes with his Clark Kent face and large stature, and his pulpy and cheesy superhero lore. While I'm on that subject, how about other glaring champion design flaws? For example, Syndra's headdress thing doesn't have a sharp/mean enough look over the top of the face, nor is it curved and spiraled enough to be that fantastical elegant exotic sort of thing. Which is why she should have a tiara. But I digress. She also lacks Eastern elements, despite being Ionian (I suggest giving her a hairstyle that screams Eastern). Also, Kog'maw and Cho'gath need tentacles. pls. |

Except for the weird Super Science Vest of Science, Jayce looks normal. And even the Vest make him seem more like Superman than less.

I was joking about the tentacles. I thought it would make so possibly inflammatory a post less serious-sounding. |
Well, you might consider it glaringly obvious, but people disagree. J(apanese)RPGs have a habit of borrowing inspiration from non-Oriental sources, too. Jayce's design is meant to reflect Piltovian style, like so: http://novelnovice.files.wordpress.c...team-group.jpg
I'm wondering what kind of tiara is Oriental? As far as I know, Oriental royalty prefer giant fancy headgear, optimally with fluffy or dangly bits. On that front, Syndra wouldn't be the first non-Eastern looking Ionian. Design flaws: Riot's been working on improving that. Mordekaiser and Sion have "design flaws", but their appearances are appropriate for their backgrounds, anyway. Humor, trolling, and serious business often look alike. |
