Lots of mids rushing chalice this tourny?
 

seems like every mid grabs the quick chalice into a pretty quick upgrade. or am i missing something?

Builds into a great item, mana sustain, mr, inexpensive - what's not to like?

It was done before this tourney as well.

It was always good.

The sheep don't build it because nobody in the older tourneys built it.

its always been an item that i've had a personal hard on for because of really cheap MR/regen but i'd get flamed for buying it in quite a few games because my damage falls behind a bit.

i was just curious because it seems like athene's is almost standard on these asian teams.

It helps their roam and makes them less blue dependent in a competition where teams aggressively seize objectives like buffs. I don't see the problem.

Athenes gives mana back per kill assist on top of chalices passive with CDR.

That's an amazing passive for mana dependent champion which a lot of the teams have been playing I.E Cass and Anivia.

stop it. no one built it before athenes was added, plenty of people started building it after athenes was added. please stop pretending everyone else is a "sheep" and you are some sort of tactical genius.

Athene makes it viable. That is all.
