If you end the game early, adc bot is pointless right
The AD needs their items and lategame to work it, right?
Why not just send an AP bot with a support then? They're usually way stronger in lane, have better escapes, more burst, etc, can contribute a lot more to midgame fights and have a better chance of getting fed during laning pahse Most one-sided games in low ELO end by 20 mins anyways, right? <.< |

1. most popular ad carries are strong enough mid game to be a big factor in fights.
2. if ap carry doesn't snowball hard you lose. |
Because when it does make it to lategame, which it will, your team will lose period.

There are two issues with this: APs are generally great roamers and gankers. AP bot can still gank mid, but can't assist top at all. Also, APs scale better with levels than ADs, because their skills get stronger, while ADs get less benefit from their skills and more from their auto-attacks. APs also have better escapes (via dashes, cc, shields, etc.) and don't really need the support assistance. The support is there to ward, to protect the carry from ganks and in fights, to assist in getting the carry kills (think Blitz), and to help them farm by relieving pressure from jungle/other lanes and their lane opponents. If APs can generally escape well, then they don't need as much protection. They can generally secure kills by themselves via cc and high burst. They don't require as much farm as the AD.
It used to be this way. It can still work, with champs like MF and Cait mid who have stronger early games or can roam a bit (MF's passive was designed with that in mind, back when the meta was AD mid). |
The holy trinity of adc right now can burst pretty damn hard mid game.

Well, tbh, I thought about this too and yes it can work, since if you shut down their AD and snowball, midgame you should win. The thing is that you would want to be more aggresive and that may leave you open to ganks. Sometimes, your teammates won't use that advantage to win the game. So it's a gamble, but the odds are in your favor. Another downside it would be that you need to itemize a little mana regen, since you won't have blue. Also, it would depend mostly on snowballing, cause if you get the same farm as the ad carry you might consider that you lose the lane, since if the enemy team won't surrender, they will have a farmed AD carry. TL;DR: yes, it is a good strat. It can work out and the success rate is kinda high. Edit: Imo, if you want to snowball and win the game before late game, and shut down their ad carry.... instead of an AP you should consider running 2 bruisers bot with a gap closer and/or hard CC. |
1.) Bot and Mid are (in most cases) the majority of your damage, so it allows the enemy team to build MR and profit. If you did this, you'd have to make sure your jungle and top are bot AD, and at least one tanky.
2.) AD are very useful mid game. It's just that they DO scale so well with items, they want to get as many as possible. If you're trying to end the game early, you can pull them out of their lane and move to team fights sooner. I main ADC and if I happen to be getting stomped it's pretty normal for me to make the call to abandon lane phase early. There's no reason to allow the gap to widen. That being said. There is no 'set' way to play. Try new things, see what works for you in different situations. I've certainly played games with an AP bot and won. |
First time under red post :)

The AD carry, by merely existing in the game, poses the threat of AD damage in the game, so they can't just stack MR. Though the bruiser/tank can do that too, truthfully. But AD carry will often go pure damage.
