Riot is anti-competitive
 

Didn't you know? Riot is afraid of competition from other video games because they know their product and service is inferior, so, they have attempted to squander their competition.

Pendragon used to operate the largest Dota forum, then shut it down and replaced it with an LoL ad after stealing a bunch of community created suggestions to make LoL

Also when Dota 2 was announced pendragon and guinsoo tried to trademark the name dota

all i'm seeing is that a business took steps to ensure their own success over a competitor. and squander was really the wrong word there.

I just think it's funny how scared Riot is of Dota 2. Why not make a better product instead of slandering Dota by saying that it's anti-fun? OH ya because they aren't capable.

i disagree. i think they did what they could to diminish valve's leapfrog from the original dota and did a good job of taking inspiration from the then genre-king while creating a distinct game with its own advantages.

i played a lot of dota back in the day, i was pretty good at it, and it definitely had aspects that i hated, there just wasn't a good alternative until league.

That's the thing. Riot doesn't call LoL an alternative to Dota. They try saying it's a better game when it's a matter of opinion. False sense of superiority, egotistical, etc...

Riot has also kicked sponsors out of their events if they sponsored Dota teams

that's their prerogative. if its bad business and their product is inferior, sponsors will bail on them and go to the alternatives.

you don't see captain crunch going "my cereal is pretty good but gosh darnit, them fruit loops are just delicious." look at cell phone coverage providers. all they do in their commercials is talk about how they're miles ahead of the competition when the reality is that they're more or less the same.
