Heroes of Newerth player playing LoL
 

I have been playing Heroes of Newerth since closed beta but I think its time for me to try this game out. I was fairly good at HoN and I have played original dota for about 5 years. I do play Dota 2 off and on I just find it boring same exact heroes that I was use to playing just better graphics. Anyway my goal for League of Legends is try to get pretty high elo which I am setting the bar at 1800 for solo q.. I am currently lv 10 so I am not able to play ranked yet you can watch my stream and help me out with tips if you want. So follow me through my journey watch me make my transition from HoN to LoL. I expect you to land 1100 elo by the end.
I mean do you know how important runes are to win a game?

To me Hon is the worst out of the 3 mobas
also you will get trolled quite a bit so if needed just dodge but have a back up game for the time penalty

Tbh at 1100 elo, anyone with a brain is basically a cheater compared to everyone else, regardless of how many bazillion runes the others have.

everyone who comes from different MOBA's think they will crush because league is "so easy". well i can tell you that it's a team game, and you can't solo carry... most of the time, but i wish you the best of luck. have fun. and save IP on runes til lvl,.. 21 i think? champions will come later. runes win games.

HoN was good times.

It's easier coming to league from HoN than the other way around, so getting to 1800 shouldn't be too hard if you're really dedicated.

Having taken the same path myself, I can tell you it's not that bad. (:

No, you won't automatically be amazing at the game, but previous experience in a MOBA that, last time I played it, moved a bit faster than LoL in the sense that everyone did a lot more damage, will help you out.

Just remember that 1. you can't deny and 2. no matter how fed you get, chances are you won't be able to 1v5 an enemy team, ever.

Having gone from LoL to HoN to Dota 2 then Back to LoL (still Play Dota 2) I've found that overall, my LoL ability has increased dramatically.
