Whats the craze with Homeguard boots?
 

I see a lot of people getting them when other boots would help them a lot more in most cases.

Alacrity - Better on all bruisers. 15 bonus MS means that you can't really get kited anymore.
Distortion - Better if your running ghost or teleport, godlike if running both. Singed is now 25% more annoying 100% of the time. Teemo too.
Captain - (Too expensive IMO) Better on all tanks, initiators and supports. Want to run into their team with your tank? Your now 8% faster. Want to kite more as an ADC? If your support has Captains and stays near you, your can kite indefinitely. Plus there great for pushes.
Furor - Only good on ADC's, but they are the best boots for them.

Homeguard - Only good (IMO) if your losing the game but still have a chance of coming back. Yet I see people getting them on everyone even when winning for almost no purpose other than "I WANNA GO FAST." ok Rickky Bobby, get whatever boots you want

Furor, even Captain, are better, but Homeguard makes you feel like the Flash.

Homeguard is the best boots to have when you're on the defensive, because they give you a lot of mobility around your base. It's the sort of thing that can stop you from losing inhibitor stuff. Also, Teleport.
