I want to see my ping location on the map itself.
Much like when the green arrows show up when you click to move, even if you click on the mini map.
Sometimes I want to indicate specific positions to my teammates, but on the mini map it can be difficult to distinguish things close together. For example: the bushes against the wall in top and bottom lane, and the cluster of bushes near river entrance to each teams blue, the one closest to mid lane. I'd imagine they would just be differently coloured arrows. Blue (turquoise?) is advance. Yellow is retreat / care. |
I agree with this completely! :D
Have pings linger on the actual map for 3-5 seconds after the ping or until that player issues another ping? I say this just because if you get a ping spammer you don't want to have them able to cover all of your creeps in pings. Max 1 visible on-map ping per player. :P Also they already have this for pinging towers and champions, they could just keep the same targets but place them on the field in a different colour. |
Yeah, maybe just your most recent ping position would be shown on the field itself.

I do like how Dota 2 has this feature. Very nice for detailed pings. +1

Oi!
Bump. |
I like the idea, but I think pings would be more visible if they looked like CV (clairvoyance, don't see it mutch). Just a thought :)
|
What the ping would look like is an issue of semantics, the more relevant issue is the fact that I think this should be in the game. It already is to some extent, you can ping monsters, players and towers, and a mark shows up on the field, not just the mini map. I'm not a programmer, but it doesn't seem like a difficult thing to implement.
Any Reds care to comment? |
This is a great idea and I was also thinking about this before as well. Bump!

You may have gotten your wish http://www.newsoflegends.com/index.p...ing-soon-2877/ :o

Right on, better than I had hoped for. I would have settled just for adding a field indicator for the 2 existing pings.
