It has been said this item is a mid-late game item for supports.

However as the item is built from a Blasting Wand and Emblem of Valor and costing 2400, I find myself unable to feasibly get this item by "mid-game". Going along the optimal item path for supports of Sightstone, Phil-Stone and Kages I already find myself on average at the 10-12 Min mark even before I start working on it. By then other support items are much more desirable at this point.

Many sites have dismissed this item as a "noob trap" because of it's niche role.

What are you opinions on this item?

My suggested change for this item build is to replace the Blasting Wand for a Kage's Lucky Pick so it can be obtainable within "mid-game" where this item is designed for.

I like the idea of it being remade into and upgrade off of aegis that possibly offers a better armor aura, or not. Either way upgrade aegis into banner, get promote+aegis. Profit!

It seems to me the point of this item is to use it bot lane and then go Baron dance late game.

The 15% feels too weak for the item, and I would still rather not have the AP. It's an alternate aegis, and should feel useful defensively like an aegis for the wielder, while buffing minions instead of champions. I think it needs to be more defensively oriented, but the CDR is nice.

Or make it offensively oriented, by adding AD, like old aegis (if AP aura is wanted there is WoTA)
