Why do I lose LP when someone on my team rage quits?
 

This has never made sense to me. If someone disconnects/rage quits, no one should lose LP/elo. How does that make sense in any way? The point of a ranking system is to accurately depict your standing. If someone D/Cs, then that should be excluded as extraneous data. This is a basic principle of statistics.

easily abused, if your team is losing, someone leave and saves your team points.

Then that person gets reported for AFK and gets their account banned eventually. Simple solution IMO

plus his team wouldnt report him if hes doing it for them. and theres a chance the entire other team wont report him if they arent reminded at end screen.

chasing you've clearing never been playing the bronze league, you wouldn't make comments like that if you knew how it's still broken

Yeah this is true, but they have to work all the way back up to 30 again and lose all their stuff. Banning an account is basically the harshest punishment available so bagging on that is kind of irrelevant.

This is a valid point. I feel like the system I said would still be better than it is now, but not sure how to counteract this.

Are you willing to give up your LP when an opponent leaves? Because, unless you're leaving, opponents leave more than teammates. (4/9 team, 5/9 opponents).
