So since you guys are gathering data (screen shots) which don't explain the full game. What if someone were to I don't know stream their experiences of matchmaking and link the stream to this thread? Then you'd be able to physically see the horrors of solo queue.

They have a ton of data about every game on their servers. So he just needs a reference point (screen shot) so he can look up your game with his search function at Riot.

I would have to be around when you post the stream :( The reason I ask for screenshots is because it allows us to look up the specific game and get a lot of detail around the game.

In the coming weeks I will begin my Solo Queue adventure, and will be recording every match. See what shakes out.

Would you accept screenshots from a little while ago? Like when the scoreboard still looked like this? http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/2...atchmaking.png

Cause my team was all 30's, and theirs was 3,3,5,5,7. Lol.

Unfortunately there have been changes to matchmaking since that scoreboard change, so the data would not be useful :(

Hi everyone, I am investigating several potential upgrades for the matchmaking systems and am interested in collecting some feedback from you – the players! If you have played a game you felt you had no chance of winning, or a game where you felt a player or two was too high or too low skill for the game, help me improve the matchmaking!

*PLEASE e-mail (Matchmaking [[[at]]] riotgames.com) these details directly. Thank you!

1) What is your Summoner name?

2) What was the game mode? (Normal, Normal Draft, Ranked)

3) What was the map? (Summoner’s Rift, Dominion, Twisted Treeline)

4) Were you queuing with a friend?
a. If yes, how many friends? (1, 2, 3, 4?)
b. If yes, and ranked, what were you and your friends’ Elo(s)?
c. If yes, and normal mode or normal draft, what was the Level and win/loss of you and your friends?

5) If you are below Level 30, do you have a Level 30 account?

6) Any specific reason(s) you felt the game was unbalanced?

7) A screenshot of the end-game score

While I cant reference any specific games, Could you please try to match people by region?

Either use their IP to determine where they are playing from or match people by ping.(or both...)

I play a lot LATE (early?) at night and often get teams from some random country's that don't know English and thus cant communicate (they usually suck BAD too)

This would be a huge improvement,..

Well I'm saying in general. I'm sure you are working with a team for a project as big as matchmaking. So maybe there could be others to review the footage for the streams and then record/report data on it. It could also be VoD and then recorded for true full detail around the game and what EXACTLY happens in the game. Numbers show a lot but it is only half the story I think in depth view of what goes on is the best way to do it. Again willing that there is someone (be it you or someone on the match making department team) can watch the stream/VoD.

Quick question Lyte: How can be justified the loss of ELO for a 4vs5 loss? (no matter the reasons, the concrete fact is that a player leaves the game and now one of the teams are in a clear disadvantage).
You may say that at one inminent loss the teamates will force somebody to leave.
My response to this argument is the next:
If somebody leaves they still have a elo loss and should be more. Also the game has a timer to determinate how much times the leaver has been out and that determinates if somebody is leaving the game at 10:00 minutes (leaving his team in disadvantage) or at a point where a game it's completly sided and there's no chance to comeback, here's a clear attempt to save his team ELO. Also if you implement the changes posted in the replies to this thread you got a system more rigorous and much more hard be deceptive.

Not raging but it seems a big problem. Probably you already response to this but i couldn't find (127 pages is too long for reading :D)

EDIT: If the system detects leavers after the game, i supose this can be quickly solved

What does this do to player behaviors?

1) The toxic players will rage and force someone to quit. They will be banned by the Tribunal; however, maybe 1-3+ players quit because of their horrible experience hearing "uninstall the game, you suck, never play again." We lost 1-3+ good people, and still had to ban the 1 toxic player.

2) Players who are moderately toxic now know they have a way to force Elo loss on someone else. Before this feature, these players would have probably gotten frustrated but just played another game or taken a break. Now, they might decide to instead rage on who they believe is the person responsible for the loss. Now, we have made a toxic player more toxic than before, and lost still 1-3+ good people.

Even if it is just 1 game, even if the toxic player is banned, I lose sleep at night thinking about the 1-3+ good players who had a miserable, miserable experience.

This is not to say it is a terrible idea; but there has got to be better solutions to consider first.

mute button? maybe make the button bigger or something to remind players that they have it?

I like how there are 3 clear winners of this poll, and they're all on varying ends of the spectrum.

Oops :p

simply put, the matchmaking system ends up more often making me want to stop playing LoL and go do something else than re-queue for another game, expecting similar mouthbreathing teammates...
