I'm afraid I do not understand this poll.
How should I know how many games I need to play to reach my true elo?
Sure, I would "want" as few as possible, to play on my level ASAP, but it says how many games do you "expect".
I do not understand.

there have been many nights where ive been 1900+ and solo queuing and been 1st pick like 5-8 games in a row all resulting in our last two teammates somewhere in the 1600's

i only state this as an issue not to blame these players in the 1600's, but because the game changes IMMENSELY from 1600-1900 and is played way differently. one cant expect any sort of team chemistry in games like this, and can be very frustrating for all parties involved

i can understand matchmaking saying
team 1
1930
1850
1800
1690
1674
avg= 1789

Team 2
1842
1833
1790
1782
1700
avg= 1789

so averages are the same, but i would much more prefer team 2, just my opinion but i dont think your team should have a spread above 200 rating apart, it just isnt fair to any of those participating

I voted 41-80 because that's about the limit of how many I want to play before I get sick of bad games.

I don't know how this reconciles with the fact that my play habits change seasonally.

I was documenting this problem some time ago. Since then I've pretty much resigned myself to bot matches because I could no longer stand the matchmaking system and several members of the community. I love LoL too much to quit, but I'm just not having any fun against other humans, wins or losses notwithstanding.

Here's my old thread I was using to keep track of some of the worst (hasn't been used for about a year): http://na.leagueoflegends.com/board/...d.php?t=343068

i think that the whole elo and matchmaking system should be changed.

first of all at my elo which is 1300 their are too many people who still don't understand the meta. i get stuck many games with a master yii jungle or with a soraka support who maxes her q and lasts hit as much as her carry. Also i have lost many games at the champion select, because people don't know how to counterpick and they take roles where they dont have suitable champions/runes. Such as an ap sion top with no armor runes (he was against riven) and no mana regen runes or masteries giving him terrible sustain. He didn't play that bad, but lol isn't just about knowing how to last hit, it's about understanding the game, knowing when you can go for a baron or a dragon, knowing that when their jungler just died you can be aggressive instead of being passive, and knowing how to play against a certain team comp.

And because of such issues i think beside your elo you should also have a hidden rating which evaluates how much you do for the team (buying wards, winning your lane, making calls....) and how much you understand the game. And this rating could help improve matchmaking, it can also decide to what extend you win or loose elo.

Then i still don't understand why a person should loose elo if they had a good performance in a game even though their team lost. Solo que isn't 5vs5 premade, your elo is a reflection of YOUR performance and not weather or not your team did well. Yes it is possible to carry your team, but unless you'r playing ap mid i don't see how you can turn the game around when both other lanes are loosing. Also unless your team mates have no self confidence they aren't going to listen to every word you say, so even if you are the best player on the team with a greater understanding of the game then anyone when the any team is aced you will find your team fights rushing to take wraiths.

And that is why riot should use the hidden rating i mentioned above to effect your elo in a more meaningful way by integrating it into it. so if you loose a game, but if you won your lane and used that advantage well during the other part of the game you could gain elo. ofcourse that would potentially eliminate the whole team aspect of the game with some team comps being made around team fights, but i'm sure that their is a way to make both the current elo system and this individual elo merge to create a new system.

sorry for the long post, but i'm sick of having my efforts wasted when i win my lane because my team mates got destroyed.

I've noticed a trend in ranked games, in the 1400-1600 there is a high chance that you will get a player with less than 50 ranked games, whoever gets that dude ends up losing due to him not being prepared enough to play at that elo,
I think MM should take into consideration games played and not only elo rating.

played a game recently.
had 2 guys 200+ elo lower (this is NOT an exaggeration) than the rest of the team, which were very close to each other while the other team had roughly the same elo as the three of us.

these two guys were COMPLETELY out of their league. i will mail the screenshot later.

And these numbers still don't represent what won a game. A game can be won by one good taunt at the right time, independant of any scoring.

My point is you can't truely rate what won a game by looking at the stats, which is why there are no performance based ratings.

In my last game played, I was carrying my team pretty hard as Karthus (10/4/7 earlier in game), but the game got into late game (35min+) where AD carries start carrying hard. We were pushing mid and our twitch was about to sneak into their base and place a ward for our jax to tele to when a wild Volibear with oracle's appeared, which prompted a bad teamfight and won the other team the game. So yeah, stats tell you nothing sometimes.

The problem with taking MoV into account is then elo becomes less important. If I am a 1200 with a massive MoV i will be queued with others in the same situation, my games will be more evenly matched and everythings good.

The problem is, the 1200 kids with a very low MoV will have the same rating as me.Whether we like to admit it or not, we all want to be better then everyone else. Not have good games. I dont want to be a 1200 who is far superior to other 1200s with poor MoV and be labeled as equals.

I want to be 1400 while they are 1200.
