Well no because you can also play AD mid or top and mid could possibly switch.

Not really. I know that if I see a Galio mid as a jungler, I camp the living hell outta him so my mid laner gets ahead.

You can dominate a lot of Elo with mid Galio, but don't think of it as a win button. He's not as mobile as other mids and at low Elo, you'll find that bottom lane gets raped by roaming mid.
