I want to see Anivia on the free week. Since she's a 6300 IP champ, I really have to try before I buy.

imo i think New/Upcoming Champs should always be free the week they are released
for the simple reason of balance...

i mean think about it, lets say udyr wasn't free the week he was released that means only a few who either had extra IP and or bought him with RP would have played him, and thus

only a small portion of the community would have been able to give feed back on him...

cause i mean lets face it only reason udyr was even brought up was because he was free the week he was released and a ton of players played him and gave the feedback on him,

just my 2 cents on the subject =p

Yes but that is one of their only forms of revenue is people buying champs and their skins on their debut. Come on man think before you speak. Do you want to keep playing LOL? Then they need the money

Free champ on debut? That's great! It's bad as it is when people queue dodge because they can't play the new champ, now everyone can dodge and qq b/c we want claim on the new champ. Nothing would get done, there would too much dodging and not enough playing, nah don't fix what isn't broken.

I agree, I think having the new champion free for the first week of its release would be a good idea. Because, then people can make sure that they like them and didn't waste their IP on the champion, or if they like them can use money to buy a skin for it. Because, 6,300 IP is a lot for a champion that you may not even like.

But I guess I get why they do that.. it allows them to make money if someone doesn't want to save up 6,300 IP for it.

It's not just about making RP for it it's about giving people the chance to show ownership of the champion.

-facepalm-
It's not a good idea because a champ needs to be out in the open for a while before you make them free. And you also can't easily counter them or abuse them unless you really played them in the free week.

well given that logic, can i suggest that the 6.3k / harder to play champs be rotated in a structured manner?

for example, say i want to try swain , i can make a judgement call on do i wait to try him or is his turn up 2 months from now?

given that you guys maybe put one or two of those in each rotation can they be rotated in a certain specified order? just throwing it out there since those are the most expensive champs it would be nice to have some sort of timeframe for potential buyers to try before you buy , so to speak

thanx riot!

We listen to player feedback on Champions to make free, and we introduce new Champions on a regular basis. Those two factors make it hard to have a set rotation that repeats every 8 weeks or so (which is I assume what you're implying about a pattern).

I think that there should be a system that will put lower level people (maybe people under level 20) into battles with the weekly free people and after lvl 20 they would have to buy someone or something like that?
