Getting leaves because of client crashes is absolutely ridicolous

First of all, for those who insist on saying "This guy is stupid, this never happens to anyone but him", let me refer you to a 34 page thread posted by a Red: http://na.leagueoflegends.com/board/....php?t=1022932

Title. I think that getting a leave because the client crashes, and continues to do so when I attempt to reconnect, is ridiculous. This is worse than having server downtime, because at least then I won't get free leaves.

I normally wouldn't flame Riot for something like this, as I know more often than not, it's computer, and not software issues.

I would really like it if Riot somehow canceled the leaves people got, or did something besides ignoring this thread.

This is a difficult situation to handle because crashes can be self induced. It is fairly trivial to write a little program that intentionally crashes LoL (for example: write a little C program that mucks around in the memory used by LoL).

Because of that, we can't trust client crashes as purely just unfortunate crashes.

What we do to combat this, however, is give a small amount of flex in leaves to account for things like client crashes and internet outages and other uncontrollable circumstances.

If that small amount of flex isn't enough cause you're really unlucky, you can file a ticket and Player Support will work with you.

Oddly enough I have this problem right after this patch. Sometimes i'd D/C from game out of nowhere and Have a 3 minute lag that brings me down to 1 fps and back to normal for the rest of the game. It only started after the patch was released which was yesterday.

yep, plus a legit player shouldnt crash too often as he/she shouldve done something about it if the problem continues frequently

One leave a month from crashes assuming your computer blows wouldnt be unreasonable.
but if your going down more then that, upgrade your comp.

I agree, despite I know it's a troublesome thing to handle, as stated
above.I've tried this. Getting an error and then a pop up which urges me to
send a report to Riot, which I've done numerous times.

One has to suspect that there might just be something wrong in the patch though, considering how this 34 page long thread (and numerous smaller threads) have popped up since the patch went live.

When it's a service wide issue, we sometimes forgive the leaves for that time period. When it's a specific person, that person will have to talk to player support mostly cause we won't know you're having a specific problem without you bringing it up.

Also consider that even though leaves might not be intentional, it still ruins the game for the other 9 players. If you can't manage to stay in game, then I figure you're better off solving the problem than ruining more games. A couple leaves aren't going to hurt you. If you keep joining games even though you know you are likely to crash, that's not good.
