What we do to combat this, however, is give a small amount of flex in leaves to account for things like client crashes and internet outages and other uncontrollable circumstances.
If that small amount of flex isn't enough cause you're really unlucky, you can file a ticket and Player Support will work with you.
One has to suspect that there might just be something wrong in the patch though, considering how this 34 page long thread (and numerous smaller threads) have popped up since the patch went live.

edit - of course, I've been using custom games/tutorial games to test it after it happened the first time. I don't want a bunch of leaves on my account. -_-
