It is possible to nerf healing without making it useless.

The soraka on my team is useful for wards, yes, but heals and sustain is another great thing, as well as interrupting channels.

Nerfing sustain /= ruining support. Rampart misquoting and hyperbole /= Riot posts. Read what they've written, understand what they've said, and don't take everything out of context to fuel your endless QQ.

I guess we're different then; I love going 0 cs support.

While some of us may not like a game change for x reason, it doesn't help to have it constantly said over and over. Reds see a lot of the same things being said often. I made this topic moreso out of concerns over how gold nerfs have effected the supports ability to support, not to allow people to ***** and moan at Reds when they post in it.
Sorry, just, I'd think we should give them respect for the work they do on the game in the first place, whether we like x reason or not. I'd prefer actual conversation to happen, not people raging at Riot senselessly. I may have done so earlier in this topic myself, I'm not entirely sure. Don't remember right now. But if I had, I didn't mean it in that sense.

Everyone at riot thinks the infinite sustain bot lane carry support sucks.
She said she is working to give support viable ap scaling
She has said that they want heals to become more interesting and an active and exciting part of combat, not drab and boring like they are now.

You're never getting non 0 CS support back now that the entire community has found out it's the most effective way of distributing gold. The only reason this didn't happen before was the community was bad.

You have two options:

1) You embrace that support is a role that's designed to make your team better and focus on helping your lanemate and team and not on "I NEED MAH ITEMS TO FEEL BOSS"

2) Stop playing support and play AP carry or something if you want to farm.

Way to not even try to formulate a logical reply.

It's possible.. but.... well, their track record hasn't been very good on it yet.

There's a difference between not giving a developer enough respect and being too wishy washy to vocalize your concern when they implement changes that end up being toxic to the game.

Option 3, encourage Riot to make changes to the particular support champions to make them scale better and be less effective without gear.

The problem "supports not wanting to farm" is a deeper problem that stems from the nature of what support is.

Since resource is limited, it will be optimal to place the resource onto champions that you want to support. In almost all cases with the exception of end game (full items) it is optimal to stack resource onto a single target... its sort of the same reason why you try to feed kill gold to a specific person when possible.

The other solution (which I've heard brought up again and again) is to increase the scaling on supports to cause them to want to farm, but does this really solve anything?

Problem 1: Support Ratios become OP and the person who doesn't want to farm shifts to another character in the lane. Ex: Suddenly tanks/tanky dps don't want farm and they go bottom lane instead to babysit the support who wants to farm.

Problem 2: Adding damage ratios that are strong enough to want support to farm causes supports to be only better at what you don't pick them for.

The only solution that has been tossed around that I think would work is split resource sharing in duo lanes, but its a really big change that really will flip a game mechanic upside down.


Of course if anyone has any good ideas, I'm all ears.
