@Xypherous - 'Making of' Champions

Would it be possible for you, or another champion designer, to write down a 'making-of' feature, recording your tests, different ideas, production progress, beta screen shots, and other interesting tidbits as you create a new champion, and then release it along with the champion? (Or hell, as it happens if you want it to be even cooler.)

I find the champion design process infinitely fascinating (especially hearing what didn't make the cut) and would absolutely love to see the behind the scenes process in how you go from initial idea to final product.

Think I'm finally done with Marth. He should come out okay. Will be interesting to see what the ingrates think of him. Now I'll have to come up with someone new to keep the ravenous beasts at bay. I wonder how a champion that kills his allies to fuel his power would play out...

I think we did a short blurb in the spotlight for a little while on champion design/crafting, but it turned out that designers aren't actually the most fun people to listen to on a general scale. XD

At least when we talk strictly about design.

Maybe so, but videos have different requirements to keep a person's interest. (Besides, in the Spotlights we're more concerned in seeing how the champion works now and their strategies.) A written article can get much more in depth while remaining a fascinating read.

Agreed, I'd love to see something like this because I've always been interested in the "game design" aspect, numbers and everything.

Can you just kinda like post random videos of stuff youre doing? Like start up a test as normal with riven, and do whatever it is youre current testing (her slide-attackmove thing or whatever, or her q..) and show us a few iterations of playtest youre doing with that

It's kinda easy recently.

Q: On-hit.
W: AoE damage, slow on enemy/self-buff, maybe shield.
E: Gap closer/utility, usually.
R: Think 30 minutes about something that looks cool, but is relatively useless (Leona, Skarner). Best if an already existing champion has something like this as normal skill, then just make cool particles (Leona)
Passive: throw words at random, hope they fit. When all fails, standard tanky DPS armor/mr/damage buff.

Why not make a "designer spotlight" in which it's just the "boring" developer talking about the process and what not for the people who are interested?

So false. The detailed explanations of a champion's concepting that you find in the window of Swain/LeBlanc/Irelia spotlights were like the most interesting moments of a spotlight, ever.
