I don't play LoL on my laptop in my lap because I'm not a terrible player who would subject my team to someone trying to play on a touchpad. I put my laptop on a table so I can use a mouse on a decent sized mousing surface so the ability to use it on my lap is moot.
Also, it's a workstation, with a powerhouse CPU and GPU, gets a good 60 capped FPS at 1600x900, only gets like an hour without AC power, and still microwaves my lap less than my Macbook Pro. And let's not even get started on the Air, we have one of those and I've heard some people borrow it on the weekends in winter to use between bedsheets.
You know what usually causes a computer to break? User error. I've been using various electronics for years and all of my PCs have lasted for 3-5 years, until I decide to replace them and give my old ones away to people in still perfectly working condition. Just because Apple makes an OS that is more idiot-proof and decent components doesn't mean you should say it breaks less often. Toys made for children and dogs generally break less easily than high quality electronics for adults, too.
