i prefer dom over SR any day. its just more action base, and the shorter matches is nice too.

I think I played around 12 games and few games had a really good come back. It was just crazy at some points. I am having a good time. Its good to be playing this compared to SR because its less stressful. You can screw up and so can your team m8s, but atleast it doesn't effect the outcome of the game. You can always come back, but you have to strategize more.

Its different. Its refreshing. Its not for everyone. If you get bored you can always go back to SR and vice versa. Good job on RIOT for making this.

Seemed very little strategy and more just run around and try to get the next tower that the other team isn't at.

I don't know, those are my initial thoughts. What did you all think that got a chance to play it? I guess in some ways I almost would've preferred just a new map for Classic mode than Dominion mode. Also spectator mode, when will we ever get that mode? But I digress, this topic is mostly about Dominion, share your thoughts.
I found it just plain chaotic.

There's simply too little time for strategy. It's predominantly tactical play. And, the balance issues are glaring.

Basically, movement speed and 1 versus 1 capability is ALL, and literally ALL that matters in it. People like Xin, Udyr and Jax are just brutal and nearly unfair on this map, unless countered by themselves in the enemy team. Nobody cares if their 5 man team can't shut you down, they'll just avoid you. They just run away because they're faster and cap other points. Mages don't nuke that much and might be able to shut someone down, but then what? Mages are usually not that fast and eventually, carries will, obviously, carry the game due to the extreme experience and gold increase per second.

As for support, don't get me started. They would've sucked before, but now they're just ****. Oh hey it's a Taric who can't do ****, is slow as **** and can't even heal his allies because they're all split up around the map how THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO BE.

Also a key element which some just don't ****ing grasp. How many times have I seen Singed farm bottom minions in Dominion for more than half the game instead of running around, capping points. How many times did I win because the enemy team thought "We'll just stick together as a 5 man blob and chase a single person down during the entire game."

It'll take some time for people to grasp the mode and for Riot to properly balance it, but it was a lot more fun than the boring, slow-paced, year-old Summoner's Rift. I like it, and might completely switch over.
IMO this is an early judgement. We of course tested and played and thought about this a LOT, and are pretty happy with the results. One of the most interesting things for us is going to be seeing the divergence of strategies from "tanky dps / fast / heimer". It's a good and natural first instinct, but I'd suggest trying some other strategies as well. We were definitely very aware and learned a lot from TT.

Dominion was fast-paced fun.

Of 12 games played (didn't have time for more), I won 7 and lost 5. No games were close.

Of the 5 losses, one was caused by a raging, feeding troll (yup, the trolls are already there!).
3 more losses due to leavers - looks like you have zero chance in Dominion if you lose a teammate.

Still, I'm looking forward to the next open test window.

I enjoyed Dominion greatly this mode offers many ways to change the pace of battle and ways for my team to coordinate and move around together. I had plenty of great matches were both teams did a awesome job.

This game mode brings a great multitude of working strategies and counter strategies more then it feels like in SR (feed carries and zone enemies) With their being 5 points and not 3 lanes the movement and placement and even the picking of champs not seen that often in SR can be implemented to great efficiency.

Not to mention the amount of time a match takes most games i had averaged 10-20 mins this is a breaker for me. My ranked SR games normally drag out 44 up to a hour some times more at that time I'm ready to just finish the game shut down the CPU and go do something else. DOM on the other hand I don't get that feeling instead it makes me want to play more and test more champs out (some I bought recently)

The battles themselves feel fluid and the point system gives you a reason to actually want to go for points and bragging rights. Had a few matches were I went something 4-5-10 but ended up first in points with a team mate of mine that went 16-3-5 and he ended in 3ed. Lets just say there was alot of chest pounding in the lan room.

My over all view on Dominion is I will play it and if we get a ranked mode with seprate elo from SR I will so join that league ^_^ I give this mode 2 thumbs up just cause I don't have any more

The other thing to consider aside from it being an entirely new mode with new strategies and rules is that everyone's ELO is starting out the same. After more games are played the games should start getting closer.

I found it to be more fun than Wukong in a barrel.
