[Game Client] Gathering performance related issues

Please attach your dxdiag or system specs with video card to your bumps if you're having performance issues. Alternatively create a support ticket with it. A lot of times this can be something specific that a class of video cards does poorly which can help us track down issues.

Which of the problems in the list are still problems today? For example, the problems with PVP.net (air client) were resolved for me a while ago.

BlobPower, on your machine, what problems are still valid? All?

I added my dxdiag.txt to the 1st post. Since the latest mini patch, maybe the one before that, my performance is worse than before. My LoL files are defragmented and i always suspend the not used processes. Also i shutdown everything that is not used for playing(like the 2nd explorer process) and i haven't installed any software for weeks.

My main concern is that the game is unplayable in bigger team fights, especially if they are on the River.

The client is still doing something. It's not as much as it was after the Riven patch, but it's not nothing. CPU usage is at 1%, it's sending and receiving some patckets and accessing the .log file.

The 3 files are still accessed over and over all the time.

The HUD remains a little odd, but it seems to be worked on.

Playing with 16Bit colors is now completely impossible, editing the config file results in a Bug Splat when the loading screen is supposed to pop up. Maybe all those people have 16 Bit colors on their desktop, and LoL uses that setting on reinstalls and repairs?

The situation with animations seems to be unchanged, but it's something i can't really grip anyways.

Thanks for the info. Please say that the game is NOT using flash *anywhere* in the game client. Pretty please.

Bump, after Graves patch everything is as bad as it were since the "new patcher", or worse. Pretty please fix the ridiculous HDD access?

I've made a post about my problems here:

Synopsis: lolclient.exe is eating tons of cpu seemingly randomly, both in and out of game. In game, with the exterior 2 processes (launcher and lolclient) suspended, greatly reduces the frequency and severity of horrific lag, but it is still a problem.

It's worth mentioning that with the 2 exerior processes suspended I also seem to be getting in unusually good performance in the game at times... which seems to indicate that this has always been a problem to some extent.

Edit: also given the nature of this problem it's practically impossible to be related to gpu or cpu conflicts, my theory is that its a network caused issue, like a infinate, unbuffered loop on a connection retry subroutine or it could be extreme harddrive access. I might be able to check these things with process explorer, but it's been years since I've used it much so it'll be a little bit for me to relearn.

with the latest patch, i've been getting random frame drops. i haven't changed any graphics setting. i used to average 60fps (drops to maybe 40 in intense battle). now, every couple of seconds, i get frame drops to less than 30 for split seconds. imagine my FPS as a sin wave. it's so annoying/frustrating to not have a responsive game because i can't play well now.

my computer can definitely run the game very well because i put everything on highest and it's always worked.
