As a part of our ongoing mission to be the most player-focused company in the world, we are continually working to improve the stability and performance of League of Legends in order to provide you with the highest quality experience possible.
So, in preparation for Season Two, we’ll be executing a massive overhaul of the North American environment. During this upgrade, we’ll be making improvements to both the network and systems components to remove any inefficiencies and single points of failure. In addition, we’ll be moving our platform servers to a new data center.
While this migration is in progress, you won’t be able to log into the platform and the website. On the website specifically, those of you who are already logged in will be able to continue to use the forums, but may experience a few hiccups or intermittent outages. Some of our services will be unavailable during this time, including the ladders, the Tribunal, the Refer-a-Friend site, the signup page, and the account management section. The community site itself (including the forums) may also experience intermittent outages during the migration.
We’ll be bringing PVP.net down this Thursday, the 17th of November starting at 1:00 AM Pacific Time (See below for other time zones). Games that are already in progress will be given time to complete. We expect that the downtime will last approximately eight hours. Stay tuned to this thread for more updates regarding the status of the migration!
