So, with the new masteries and what-not, I was just curious what runes and masteries will allow for double passive at game start.

if you're using ignite, you can get both passives with just quints and masteries.

improved ignite -- 5 ad
one quint -- 2.25 ad
masteries -- 3 ad

improved ignite -- 5 ap
two quints -- ~10 ap
masteries -- 4 ap, 1 ap/level, +5% ap

I run 7 AD Reds, 2 MP Reds, 9 Health per Lvl Yellows, 9 AP per level blues, 3 Flat Ap Quints. The same basic set up I had before the rework, except I could change flat ap blues to ap per level.

I like your title.

Also with the Embers thing, don't you have to USE ignite to get it?

yes, which is the tradeoff for rune and starting item flexibility.

if you don't want ignite, or don't want to put it on cooldown to gain your passives early, then you'd have to start eating into your glyphs and marks. or pick a starting item with ad or ap. for example, doran's blade start with 3 ap quints and the ap masteries would work--assuming you wanted to give up on all that potion health you could get otherwise.

alternatively, don't worry about activating her passive(s) at level one.

"Wasting" Ignite at level 1-2 sounds good to me. If you use it before the clock hits 3:00 minutes, you'll get it back in time for when you hit level 6. And by then, you should be ok to hit both passives without ignite on cd.

You won't have the AD passive by level 6 from items.
The only way for that would be to buy a long sword+amplifying tome.
While the Amplifying tome works towards your revolver/gunblade, a long sword is completely useless toward any viable akali build.

I'm not sure throwing your ignite early just to allow for different runes is worth it. If that ignite could have otherwise gotten you a kill in the early laning phase (happens quite often), then it definitely is not a good idea. A early game kill for Akali against your laning opponent helps a lot towards her transition to gunblade roaming/mid game.

I do:

7AD Reds, 2 ARpen or MPen Reds
1AP Yellow, 8 AP/lvl Yellows
9AP Blues
3 MPen Purps

I do AP yellows instead of defensive so that I can use my Quints for MPen.

I start with boots 3 pots or Doran Shield on SR, and Boots, Doran's, Health Crystal and 1 pot on dominion.

I do:

30/0/0 Masteries, taking 3 AD, 4 AP, +1 AP/lvl, +5% AP, and penetrations.
1 Flat AD red
8 Mpen Reds
Flat AD yellows
3 Flat AP blues
5 Mpen Blues
1 Flat AD quints
2 Flat AP Quints

Will give you exactly 10 ad and 19.9 AP and 10 mpen at level 1. Trying to get most MPen while still getting double passive at lvl 1. If anybody can get higher, let me know.
Items: Boots 3 pots

I need to work on dominion, something with more per level I think.
