It will affect everyone who has internet. ex: facebook, if FB gets closed then other countries will be affected too bec. FB is in US. Youtube is another example, gets closed bec of infringement then other countries cant watch vids anymore.

I propose a LoL blackout, similiar to how reddit is shutting down for 12 hours (http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2012/01/11/reddits-sopa-blackout-admirable-but-google-and-facebook-must-follow/)

I think blacking out LoL for a day or 12 hours would raise a lot more awareness as SOPA would basically eliminate livestreams, make it hard for Riot to create new champions, etc.

What do you think?
Likely far too damaging to profits.

since it is us law it will only directly affect Us citizens, however anyone that enjoys content originating from the US will be SOL

if you go to reddit you wont see anything
watch streams? that could be gone.

Youtube? more like youseenothing.

This act would only affect the US. IF SOPA does pass in the US, then several other major countries will surely soon follow.

LoL Blackout would make Amumu sad.

SOPA passing would make Amumu angry!

I, for one, support the idea of a LoL blackout.

Wow, how did this not get the 40+ upvotes that the other (rather asinine) thread did?

Sigh.

We're so happy to see support from everybody. We also have Lomar, Riot's legal counsel, answering questions on Reddit, if you'd like to get in on the conversation. or have some more questions about our position. http://www.reddit.com/r/all/?count=25&after=t3_ocbwc

Edit: To officially address the OP's comments, though, I'll repost Lomar's comments on a blackout:

Nothing's off the table, but we aren't yet actively considering a blackout. I think the immediate concern for us is whether or not this would upset more players than not. We're open to using as many levers as we can to push political action, though.
