@Riot, do any of you play MTG at the office on break?

Since you seem to all like MTG draft format so much when can we see something similiar in LoL?

The server chooses 14 champs, 2 bans per team, standard picks .. but there is only 10 champs to choose from.

Is there much constructed play? If so do you all follow the competitive meta or do you just build decks you enjoy?

I used to play competitively but got shafted twice by event organizers bias towards other players. One was for a 3 round bye at a grand prix so I was pretty ticked :/

My friend and I just got into MTG last weekend, kind of random hobby to pick up out of the blue but we are having a lot of fun with it. Total noobs and we have to ask what is going on every turn but it's fun.

Much DnD, CoC, Traveller, WH(40k), etc going on at the offices?
oh man, sorry! i totally remember writing out a response, but it looks like i failed at tweeting it...

we definitely have a good number of people that play various board/card games. d&d, 40k, and mtg are popular for sure, but there are also folks that play catan, dominion, le harve, and the like.

rickless, do you think you can get guys there who play mtg to post their decks? (summary works)

personally I use a mostly innistrad Black/R vampire deck that feels aggro-y and midgame starts mindcontrolling creatures pretty rapidly.

Also, G/W/Black parallel lives token deck is pretty fun. Strongest card in it might be hero of blade hold (effective 8 attacking power for 4 mana, without parallel lives in play). Mitotic Slime is fun to use against black in particular, as sacrifice strongly benefits you with parallel lives.

You were a Ravager player, weren't you. Also, I am intensely jealous of everyone that works at Riot now; I wish I had a convenient place to go to for regular draft play. :C

Looks at 5k cards in boxes next to my desk, I doubt they will see the light of day again. They shift cycles so often that I doubt my old collection is worth anything. I had a few boxes of unopened exodus at one stage but caved in and opened them a few years back.

I tried playing with friends semi recently with one of the classic black decks, suicide black deck, I think was what it was known us. People with expensive new decks surrendered when I got a dark ritual, black knight and unholy strength. That was like the classic tournament opening that you wanted, thats now considered stupidly powerful for some reason when they have all these new fancy mechanics in their decks. I just looked at the deck and remembered the fun of making yourself discard an expensive creature so you could res it and get a surrender.

In the past, you would just expect a counter with unsummon or lightning bolt.
