The big question you need to ask when reviewing a potential feeding case: is it intentional?

What criteria do I usually employ to determine if it's intentional? Well intentional feeders usually have some of the following characteristics:

- Outright trollish manner (HEY BRO-HEIMS IM GONNA FEED NOW TROLOLOLOLOLOLO)

- Losing Attitude (*sigh* I'm Eeyore, and I probably shouldn't have played this game because I'm too depressed to try so I'll just feed mid until the game is over)

- Ragers ( OMG YOU GAVE UP FIRST BLOOD? WELL GOOD ****ING GAME, THIS IS OVER. YOU GUYS ARE TOTAL NOOBS. TRASH, I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS ****. I'M GOING TO FEED MID NOW YOU STUPID ************. THAT WILL TEACH YOU HOW TO PLAY. **** YEAH I'M AWESOME!)

- Their score usually has NO kills, and NO assists.

- Their item build is random/has no relevance to their build/champion.

A great many players simply have bad games. They gave up a kill or two early on and they got snowballed in their lane. Or, perhaps the Jungle kept coming down to gank them and prevented them from getting farm. All of these are valid tactics in LoL and are not punishable. You can tell players who don't intentionally feed because they are usually:

- Apologetic for dying

- Try to explain what happened to them

- Don't give up the game

- Ask for help from their team mates.

- Have some kills/assists, have purchased actual items relevant to their champion/build

- Can be seen working with their team in chat

Anyways, these are just some thoughts I'm putting out there. They shouldn't be considered a full list though, feel free to add to it.

Rest snipped for length

But I would love to see something where when you pick a reason to report you get a window with an explanation like you gave about the report they're about to things to consider before they do it.

A lot of people, as shown in this thread, don't understand what intentional feeding is.

Reports from enemies i find considerable more reliable for evaluating intentional feeding, because allies report easier and more frequent for intentional feeding then the enemy would do.
Of course you still need evidence from items, kill scores, chat, etc. to support the accusation of intentional feeding.

What about the weird middle ground, where they aren't raging, but they aren't apologizing either- they feed as bad as if it is intentional, but what they say is "Lol, it's just a game" and "I don't care, I'm just having fun." and the ever popular "XD"?

3/15/7 is feeding but it's almost always not intentional feeding. 0/15/0 is intentional and under 10 cs and not a support is int. feeding.

I played as jungle Lee Sin yesterday and went 4/15/22. I died over and over and over, but it was because I would initiate, they would pounce on me, and if I got silenced or feared I couldn't W back out.

What's interesting to note is, despite not being the tank on the team and dying 15 times, every time the enemy team killed me, 2-4 of them would die and no one on my team would. I was very satisfied with my "feeding" as it resulted in a very one-sided victory.

What's also worthy of note, with a score of 4/15, our Poppy on our team said "This Lee Sin is awesome!! Thanks man!" When I ganked his lane and tanked the turret to death so he could kill Mundo under it (1 death to turret, not Mundo), and warded every lane for my team, defended lanes, secured dragon repeatedly, stole their blue (and gave it to our mid), etc.

I had, arguably, a "feeder score", but it was not the score that showed how I did as a team member. I sacrificed myself repeatedly (gold-wise with the 20 or so wards I bought and life-wise by initiating team fights) and I'd like to think had no small part in our solid victory.

When I do Tribunal, I don't even look at the score until about the 3rd step. Step 1) Why were they reported? Step 2) What does it say in the chat logs? Step 3) What items/score/dps do they have? Step 4) How many games of similar behavior are there? Step 5) Name inappropriate? Step 6) Render Verdict.

I played with an Amumu yesterday on my smurf who went mid against a smurf Annie. After his second death in the first 5 minutes, I asked if he was going to be okay in mid. Crickets. After a third death, I said "Amumu go bot, Annie seems to be getting the better of the exchanges. I'll see if I can stop her" and went mid.

... Amumu stayed in mid, dove her under their turret when her stun was up and died again. I asked him again to go bot. Crickets. I asked if he spoke english and if we had a communication problem. Crickets. After his fifth death he says "this is like my second time playing, is this champion just weak or something?"

I explained Annie was OBVIOUSLY a smurf and playing a very strong champion and that he would be better served to go bottom lane against their lower level players. He finally listened and, despite going 0/7, I had no intention of reporting him... until he said "**** THIS ****!" when fed Annie 3 shot him, and left the game. (I reported for leaving, not feeding)

So you have to take into account the level of skill the player has. He wasn't intentionally feeding, he was just new and may not have even been reading chat while I was trying in vain to advise him how NOT to die.

With feeding, if someone isn't going kamikaze on the enemy base or turrets, I generally won't report, despite very negative scores. Remember, I went 0/13 on Sion once. It happens.

if someone has a death for every 2.5 minutes or less played i look through the chat... if i find any indicators that point to it being on purpose i will consider it in my decision making process. I never instantly click punish because sometimes they are provoked to act certain ways... It isnt fair for a team mate would constantly tell where you are, or always abandon you and leave you alone...
