I periodically lag out of the game for 8-10 seconds, maybe every few minutes.

That's been the result each time. I have a Cox tech coming out tomorrow to take a look - I removed the router from the loop and it didn't clear up, and I'm now having similar problems with Netflix, so, I'm pretty sure this isn't a LoL thing.

Hope that works. at least it is a common bug on linksys routers-modems.

This is actually news to me. I can't imagine why this would be the case. Do you have any other information/sites/news articles on this? I'd love to research it more in depth. If its a common problem we can add it to our knowledge base.

Coming in a little late, but it also looks like you might want to set a dns server. I would recommend using google's (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4). All you need to do is
Control panel -> Network and sharing -> change adapter settings -> Local area or wireless depending on what you use -> right click and go to properties -> Ip version 4 properties-> set both ip address's in for the dns server.
Should look like this... http://gyazo.com/48815c7f6debc34a5f5630f9b7cda448

after words close out of everything and run these commands in an elevated command prompt
(type cmd into the start menu and right click, run as admin)
Close all browsers and anything connected to the internet before hand so it can flush all cashed entries.

ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

This will flush all entries that were made into cashed dns and should help you with some of your problems.

Well, there isnt any kinda of article, but i had worked with lots of routers from linksys, and specially for other gamers, and well this sentence about DHPC is actually accurate.

Think sometimes the routers may go crazy and start spamming the "new IP" of DHPC every minute or so, generating microcuts on the line.

Im not a pro on networking, im just a computer tech with some Dells certifications (Desktop and Laptop), but on the last job i had, lots of customers (appart from the common problem with dells laptops). specially their sons, had this problem with DHPC.

PS: im looking for Job here on Argentina, but Riot doesnt hire from other countrys

I have no idea why it worked, but it did. About 90% of my lag problem was resolved just by googling DHCP, static IP and following directions.

(I do have a legit lag problem from the ISP as well, but it's MUCH less common, happens only during peak hours and not often even then, etc. The tech support rep I spoke to said that our signal strength was low, they have a technician coming out today to address that.)

I'm having periodic problems like the OP, and it only started recently.

http://n2.netalyzr.icsi.berkeley.edu/summary/id=43ca208a-26119-c1978382-787e-471c-af42

Any hints as to what this could mean?...

Edit: I fixed the hosts file from previous malware, so I no longer have the strange Google IP redirect. It seems to primarily be a network buffer program. What could this be?
