No offense, but I find that taking offense to a random person over the internet saying "gay" in all chat to be overly sensitive. I think that a lot of the issues with this subject have to do, unfortunately, with the tribunal and the fact that there is a punishment system in place. I know that everything is supposed to be politically correct, and everybody should be respectful and polite, but the reality is that this is nothing but an online video game and be treated as such.
If people are saying "You are a **** **** kill yourself irl ****", they should be banned. If someone gets killed and says "That's gay" in all chat, maybe we should realize that this person may not be educated about how this statement can be offense. He is not saying, "That is very homosexual male", he's saying "That was dumb". Is it the correct, or respectful, thing to say? Absolutely not. But I'd like to think that people have tough enough skin not to take DIRECT offense from what people in this game type into chat, when they have no idea what race, gender, or sexual orientation that you are.
I enjoy games more when there is a little trash talking back and forth. I want to be able to say "DUNKED" when I outplay somebody, and at the same time I want them to say the same exact thing when they outplay me. The community as a whole has gotten extremely sensitive and is always just looking for reasons to punish people, and I believe that this needs to change.
I am not saying that you guys should not make it a goal to work towards a more respectful, friendly player base. But at the same time, realize that in this game you have countless individuals from different backgrounds, ages, upbringings, and education levels, and that maybe not everything is meant to be a direct insult to a certain group of people.
