You are probably right about that, but I still think his ult should be allowed to be cancled and still do reasonable damage... otherwise his ult is just an aoe slow that is useless in my mind...

Nunu's damage on his ult is completely unjustifiable EXCEPT for the fact that it takes forever and you can prevent it. It's one of the strongest moves in the game, but also one of the hardest to use effectively. Fair trade off I think.

True, it is very powerful but hard to pull off. Maybe the best thought would be to reduce the damage slightly and reduce the cast time?

It's also one of the highest base damage and highest ap scaling ults in the game, and its AoE. AP Nunu lands that thing, he wins the teamfight. High risk high reward.

Don't start it in a position where you can get easily stunned, unless you want to pull aggro.l Nobody can be in Nunu's ulti when it hits, so use it in a situation where doing anything but that is a poor option.

Nunu's ult scales linearly for part of the damage dealt.

His ulti pulls aggro, slows, and debuffs AS. Even without damage it brings a lot to the table. One of the reasons support Nunu caught on (even with no AP or MRPen, his ulti still does a good number of damage).

If you channel for 90% the duration you get 90% the damage.
it really doesn't feel that way though
