Spectator Mode is awesome, but we have no way to save the replays

The problem is that replays are often done through the game client, and if there is a difference in patch number between the replay and the current client, it could render old replays unwatchable. It's obviously not impossible to get around, but it's just something to consider.

We are working on it. There's a big gap between "OK" and "meets or exceeds our players' expectations", and we are shooting for the latter. Doing that does take significant amounts of time and effort though. Spectator mode is part of the process in achieving this.

I'm glad some red came around and said this. I've been saying ever since spectator mode was announced that it was the first step in getting actual replays. First step: Create a system where the server stores game information and allows people to view it as the game is taking place. Next step: Have that system save the data and transmit it to the people after the game is finished.

Everyone called me mad, but we all see who's mad now.

Work HARDER. We know it takes significant time, you've been working on it for 2 yrs... If it wasn't one of your first project, then you all were doomed from the beginning.

You should add a "Watch Replay" button at the end screen in the meantime since the game is still persistant on the server. It would just be like you are spectating yourself. You could then at least review the game you just played.

I <3 you reaver king. First post I've read in a while that mentions replays are still being worked on. Spectator mode is a good step though, and will be awesome until then.

If this replay function does happen, that would be the end of trollers and bad behavior IMO . Just put the replay video up with the case at the tribunal and BAM! mucho bueno Ban-o-Hammer-O.
