Keep it so that we see the names of the players involved and maybe their elo added in there as well.

I keep mousing over the names hoping to see a pro. I personally won't just spectate a game simply because I see what champions are in the lineup. And it is really annoying to keep mousing over.

I spectated a random feature game because I thought one of the players had a funny name. I think its better to give us more information first hand, than having us do the extra step =) The animation is cool and all, but I don't really need it. (Sorry to whoever worked on the mouse over animation, its cool!)

I agree that who is playing is more important than what champ they are, plus we get to see that anyway.

Well, our data suggests that more people enjoy seeing champions than players. Not everyone knows who HotshotGG is, and to them the names were unnecessary. We left it in for people to check out if they want to. If anything, it's better that people can't just scrape for celebrities now because we want to balance out the games being spectated (rather than funnel 600k people into one game)

We also decided not to show the ratings involved because A) not all games are ranked (we don't wanna show normal ratings), B ) People would only watch the highest rated game, even if by only a few points, which would defeat the purpose of giving you options / variety and C) the game ratings are weighted because people usually have higher normal Elo than ranked Elo and we didn't want to have people wondering why there's a 1700 ranked team when there are 2400 solo games (with similar skilled players).

The issue right now is that people do want some warrantry of quality when they stop to watch a game. This is why people watch top streamers rather than people within 1100 ELO. They want to learn. Right now, there is a huge variance within the system. You practically have to search up the players' ELO manually before clicking to join.

Besides, I've yet to see a non-ranked game in there. Seems that that point is fairly moot.

Can we somehow get an option to just view the second screen? This will probably take months out of an employee's time down the line, so I understand this won't happen anytime soon. But the flashy animation is actually a little annoying x_x, on top of the fact I don't find the first screen useful.

Thanks for your response. I understand your point about Elo. The second screen however shows all the information I need. Having to manually mouse over is just ugh.

I really don't care who is playing. I don't keep up with e-sports drama. I just want to see some high-level play without the egos, personalities and attitudes. Spectator mode is awesome, now I don't have to go anywhere near streams.

Can it at least be a preference? I very much dislike having to hover to see the info I want. Also, despite the animations being done very well, I would like to disable the animations when I am cycling through the games. There are five games and don't feel like it should take me 15 seconds to see the information I want to see (1 second (of cycle animation), 1 second (of hover over animation), 1 second (of unhover animation)).

Or make the animations a whee bit faster.

What about searching for specific matches, by typing one of the players name? This way you could find a specific game that your friend is watching but that isnt showing to you, or search, for example, for a VideoGameDunkey game lol
