Negative numbers are depressing to look at

So Lyte, I know you've talked about it (or some other red), but do you guys have any plans to deal with the plays-1900-Elo-Vayne-but-1300-Alistar-guy? I can't think of any other reason why there would be huge mismatches in skill at every Elo other than that certain players only have one, two, maybe three champions they play at that level, and play them not to fall back down, but truly suck at other roles/champions. I don't know if there could ever be a solution to that.

I know I'm not good at every role and, even in the roles I think I'm pretty good at, my champ roster is kind of low. I'm exactly the kind of player that probably plays 1800-1900 level on certain champions and 1300-1400 level on other champions =/.

I was at 5 Elo, then I dodged one last time and now my Elo number won't even show up for me. I presume I'm at -5 but is it just a bug that it won't show?

one could reason that currently, sub-1k elo has a similar effect. loss of a digit can be pretty impactful, even if it's from 1000 to 999

Yo Lyte.

Here is another problem I and other summoners have encountered:
I have been in more games that I can count, where a player is not only as inexperienced as others, but after looking at they're profile, you see that they dont have full rune pages. I think this is a huge disadvantage for any team with players doing the good fight to climb elo.

Got any data and ideas to alleviate this bad mama-jama of a problem?

Yes, we're thinking about ways to combat this. This indeed is a reason why we see such varying skill levels when players are supposedly a certain Elo.

This is a fair point, but it's the lesser of two evils I believe. Alternatively we could just shift everyone to be 1000-3400 I suppose...

Also, what was the change you guys had in mind for queue dodging in ranked?

|s it going to be impossible for me to climb back up to 1200 now?

How come queue dodge penalties would make it impossible to climb back up to 1200?

We were considering removing the -Elo on the penalty, but doing something else instead.

Any chance something could happen to make playing unfamiliar roles in normals less of a problem? Every time I try and get any experience playing jungler or support I end up hurting my team. I don't want to play ranked until I feel comfortable in those roles, but I'm nowhere near even being able to have an occasional decent game in those roles. If I play AP, I feel I could at least be around a 1400 elo if I played ranked, but any other role I'd probably fall well under 1000.

Secondly, how much effort is being put into finding better in game ways to teach players how to better do certain things? I've read a lot of guides, watched videos, and have been verbally told how to play a support effectively, but I still can't seem to figure out how the best way to go about doing it is.

I know those questions are kinda the same, but they sounded different in my head for some reason.

Anyway, I know I've said this before, but thanks again for everything you guys are doing.
