speaking personally, i think he's a support champion that is in need of a minor rework. i like his base concept a lot (i love time mages) but i think he could benefit from some tinkering under the hood and then perhaps changing his passive and rewind a bit.

On the concept of Time, A CDR Aura passive would make sense for him.

Xerath has 3 damaging spells and a useless passive.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and offer my opinion...

Whenever I play champions that have one or two non-damage abilities, if they're the last ones up, I always feel as if I'm semi-useless or something until the other abilities come back.

So maybe the designers are making all abilities do at least a little damage to increase the feeling of 'reward', and reduce the feeling of helplessness?

I'm not sure why this is getting downvoted. He's responding to the OP's comment about how mages aren't supposed to carry a game.

Most mages fall off lategame and it's something that has always frustrated me. Lategame AD carries do as much damage with their crits than mages do with their actual abilities that they have to time and usually aim.

Don't you dare take away double time bombs. Leave the old man alone.

If you will indulge me rickless, i see what you mean when you say that damage potential isn't just about the number of damaging spells but it seems to me that the ones without four damaging spells seem to either have a higher skill-curve (ala viktor) which makes people less inclined to learn them. As what they bring to the fight can be brought by say a cassiopaeia just as easily.

OR

They do in fact seem to struggle against the new mages, two examples being Annie and Fiddle.

This is just my opinion, one that i was wondering you had thought about maybe?

Edit: Spelling

Ps. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

OP is seriously sounding like Riot right now.

"Well they have 4 damaging abilities vs the original "legacy"".

What he forgets to mention is that a lot of them are skill shots and/or require melee range.

this is very true after you point it out for me, and yes it helps explain why some champs seem to be more popular than others

3 out of the 7 last ability power champs have a non damaging skill. You kind of just looked past them.

Xerath (Only 3 damaging abilities out of 5)
Viktor (Only 3 damaging abilities out of 5)
Rumble
