That guy was pretty angry and not very reasonable, but I do want to throw the opinion out that lately I've felt new champions' aesthetic and thematic designs to be less interesting and borderline generic. Giving people what they want is awesome. Giving people what they didn't know
they want and now really really want
is even better.
A great example might be Ziggs, a champion that I believe has done very well by all accounts. He isn't the slightest bit generic and everyone loved him.
I feel like in Riot's effort to bring more mass appeal things have begun to run together somewhat, right down to release skins, which lately have been very similar to the Classic models.
So in other words, I agree that giving people what they want is awesome and I'm really glad Riot does it. I don't agree that giving people what they want means always
committing to design tropes.
For the record I think you guys do a great job, but I understand and agree with a few of the criticisms you're getting in this thread and I wanted to try to present them in a way that was less emotional. heh
