I believe also in german the time element doenst come last so. in addition the word Wanderen means "to go hiking" so you dont need to use gingen.
Im Sommer wir wanderen in Spanien
and your last sentence is pretty solid..
overall this type of translation you used is much too literal... while if you spoke in this dialec to someone who was fluent in german, or of german heratige they would understand you, but if you were using this type of translation for a class assignment, the teacher would know that your doing it wrong.
edit: hope i helped
sorry to say bud, but your translation is even worse than his :<..
your example would be "last week i broke my leg", which sounds strange in german, so i would go with your first choice.
the 2nd sentence really hurts
"Im Sommer wir wanderen in Spanien"
the direct translation of your translation would e 'in the summer we're hiking in spain'
which sounds more like future than anything else
the right one would be
We went hiking in spain over the summer.
wir waren wandern in spanien letzten sommer.
assuming the last summer is meant with the past used in english
last sentence is good.
