I've heard a lot of rumors that says she is broken and I would like someone experienced using her tell me if she is really broken or if she is a viable champ (as solo top and/or jungler). I want to invest some IP on a good champ and I think she is one of my options. She has become very controversial nowaday and I just want to be sure.

She is a very good top and I would suggest buying her. People just call her broken or op because they don't know how to counter her.

She's a solid champ choice. People call her broken because she's mobile and deals good damage, but she has low defenses and has to get in the middle of the fight to deal damage, excluding her ultimate.

More important is whether or not Riven is your playstyle, not whether the community calls her broken. If you've tried Riven out before and she's just that awesome to you, buy her right away. If you haven't gotten to try her, but you've seen her playstyle and know it suits you, buy her if you can't wait for a free week. Riven's a solid, fun champ and worth your time.

I don't think Riven is broken at all. She might have used to be before they nurfed her....but it's that way with all new champs when they're new.

She's a solid champ that can tank, can bruiser, and has mobility if not cc'd.

Useful in any match.

She needs to have a kill/CS advantage to be any danger. Pretty much, she snowballs.

If you're winning, she will continue to win unless focused down fast.
If you're losing, you will die incredibly fast when focused, and until then they can ignore you because you will do no damage.
