Ironstylus...I love you and this whole thing.....but my head hurts after spending a good hour reading through all these hints.can you make a dumbed down version,for people like me . Like

"Missing the brushstroke amongst the greater composition" implies that I'm looking at this too broadly, right? So in fact there's a more direct meaning to this whole puzzle than a cryptic allusion to something that may or may not be happening in Lore?

Oh I get it... lets refer back to the biblical reference here....
Take all the letters from all the 4's and 12's
Then we get letters, s, s, i, s, n, m, o, e
Unscramble them to get the words:

Moses sin
