Uh, actually they are. Champ choice, build, etc. are all reasons players are being banned now. See for yourself:

The player support department themselves took the side of the people who reported him, when he made it very clear he had no malicious intent. You can say "trolling" this, and "uncooperative" that all you want, those are meaningless ad hominem statements. He warned his team, he chose what he wanted to play, he had fun by his own accord.... and he was banned for it.

Seriously, he wasn't doing anything wrong. Why should he be punished for his team's narrow-mindedness? What is the difference between him and a normal player who picks a "normal" champion, and performs very poorly? Well, the difference is he doesn't get banned. Oh, but the unviable pick? WITCH! BURN IT! Unless he does good. Then we ignore his pick because we are ignorant.

I mean, at this point, the meta has become an absolutely necessary way to play the game. It is an uncompromisable wall of rules that weighs down upon all of us, limiting our choices, forcing our actions, and even getting us banned. Worst of all is that Riot thinks that it's justified. The message is something like, "if you don't play the game this certain way or if you make decisions based on what other people want, we will ban you."

I hope Riot can read this comment sometime. A lot of the verbal abuse and offensive language reports comes from post game chats, Is there a way for you guys to eventually include the post-game chat in the reports? I'm seeing a lot of reports on verbal abuse and offensive language for players, but not really finding bannable offensive language in game chat logs. And I know there's a lot of gloating, griefing, finger pointing, and taunting in post-game chats.

You know you can leave post game? You know you can block the harasser post game without it affecting gameplay? If you're getting verbally abused post game, then you're allowing it to happen.

It's just sad that the tribunal can easily be fooled by lies, to make really guilty people look like victims and vice-versa. The tribunal should get like a LoL replay file so they could truly see what happens, what is true and what is false. The only problem with that... is that it would be a heck of a load of problems to store all of those replays, but also to judge them. Like if i'd spend 1 hour judging a single case... for 12 IP. Who would?

I'm probably gonna get hate comments for that, But I think that, in general, the tribunal is a good idea that turned bad because of the corruption of players. Real griefing players just come in group of 3-4 and deform reality to make the victim players look like the guilty and mass-report them, often by asking enemy team to report them as well, if the player dares to fingerpoint the griefing they are doing (must it be the pick of things that obviously won't work like blitzcrank ap mid or the famous "homerun" troll).

It's reset down.

Pendragon responded to the thread, but I'll reiterate.

That player absolutely deserved to be banned. He did not give you all of the details that he should have. I checked his cases myself, personally. When a player receives that many reports over that many games... he's an extremely negative presence in League of Legends.

Do you really want to play with a player who has 40+ reports in the last 2 weeks alone and has a report in over 30% of his games? His ban is justified because it was not about picks, or team compositions... it was simply the fact that that player was an extremely negative person to those around him.

It is those who can do whatever (or say whatever) and can get away with it just because their friends can file 2~3 reports against you (which will probably result in punishment) if you try to argue against them.
Also, if Riot’s true goal is to “correct” players’ behaviors, to build a better community, and to provide positive gaming experience to people, it really needs to find a way to notify banned players the reason why they were banned. Simply emailing them that “your behavior in game broke the summoner’s code” isn’t enough. How are they going to fix their behaviors if they don’t exactly know what they did wrong?
Lastly, more maps will be greatly appreciated XD Summoner’s rift is getting too old.
I support this, Riot MUST inform the banned player the reason of the banning, I don't care about the names of the ones that reported me, just let us know WHY we got banned.
