Excellent question. Our plan is that if a champion requires significant model/particle/sound changes those changes will indeed be made on the other launch skin. Indeed, we might push a more change-heavy skin till later as we'd want to spend the appropriate amount of time. Some model/particle/sound changes might more hefty than others, so a more conservative idea might be used first before a more heavy departure is endeavored upon.

Because we often want to shift or enhance themes in a new champion, we want to make the most investment possible in that additional launch skin and subsequent skins. Yes, if we were to release another Udyr-type champion with transformations or state changes, we'd do whatever effects or other work necessary to adapt the additional skin to a tangental theme if it's a significant departure. We want things to feel unique, not like texture or just model swaps.

I don't like Lord Dairus but I did sort of like Varus's skin. I might have bought it, except he's getting another soon. Why buy this one when I might prefer the other?

The quality of the newest Pantheon skin is not on the same level as your previous skins. I.E. his passive has the same particle in every skin. I am rather sure you guys could have changed these partciles to match the skin. Esp, it being a skin that was released with a launch of a new server.
