I'm really glad that Riot has been taking this new tact with skins. I had a personal ban on buying any at all, since I felt that it was ridiculous to pay 10$ for a skin when custom skins were always so much better (eg, most old "real" skins didn't have new particles, etc.) But the effort going into skins like Tyrant Swain, Blackthorn Morgana, and Soul Reaver Draven has changed my mind.

Of course, there is a place for smaller skins too, just... in the 500 RP or less bracket :P

@IronStylus, a few things.

First, with regards to the Viktor "timeline" feel that was supposed to be achieved, i think that purchasing the double bundle pulled that off, but if someone got only the single bundle or purchased the other skin separately they missed out. I like being able to go "classic" or "retro" Viktor in any given game, depending on my mood.

Second, the quality of new skins is epic and amazing. They all seem like legendary skins, and Blackthorn and Tyrant certainly outclass almost any legendary without a voice rework. What does this mean future legendary skins will look like? Is Pulsefire Ezreal going to be able to effectively outclass such powerful skins?

Third, are there any plans for a Viktor legendary skin at any point? There are places you could go with that... I mean, Chaos Storm reskins could be absolutely absurd, all sorts of things could happen with such a skin. Think about it...

I do actually enjoy the Viktor skins myself, but I don't quite think they deliver on certain aspects of the fantasy. I really, REALLY love injecting as much lore as possible into what we do, but it's questionable as to whether this was the place to do it, and if it was in the right fashion. That said, I do personally like all the skins.

Future skins will continue to increase in quality where appropriate, and where there is opportunity. Oddly enough it's as simple as that. We're kind of on this crazy train which we've decided to run off the rails with. The Skins team pretty much just said.. "$#%@ it, the gloves are coming off..." and decided to commit to ridiculously high quality standards, which I feel we've delivered on.

As for PFE, a simple answer: Yes.

We've ideated on Viktor, and we always explore regular and legendary ideas. I wouldn't be able to give you a timetable on any of that however.

Also, I have a question: some of the newer skins coming out, despite looking amazing in style and shape, don't look as great because of terrible color palates (I was looking at Samurai Shen when it was coming out, was going to get RP to buy him and the skin, checked the skin on LoLskinviewer.com, and then realized the colors didn't look all that great). Are you guys maybe thinking about changing a few colors on the skins to make them look more visually appealing -- tweaking them a little? One of Jarvan's skins could use some retouching as far as color is concerned, as well -- his Darkforge skin.

I'm pretty sure there's more examples than that, but I can't think of any right now other than those. Those are seriously very large problems in my mind.

We'll have to take a look on a case-by-case basis and see how it's reflected in our data. I'm not privy to any plans to address any such concerns, but it's worth keeping in mind on our end.
