Ahem. Read the bold. I'm not saying that the people you classified tend to have it better, but this is not all the time, in fact, if you look at the poverty line, I'm sure it's not. But, my point in this discussion is that while it was not your intention you are discriminating because of the bold.

I'm really disappointed in the people of this thread.

You argue for equality, but you don't want everyone to have it. Judging from the reaction here, I don't think that word means what you guys think it means. Either that, or you are woefully hypocritical and don't really care.

You're correct in assuming I mean to be inflammatory. I will insult and taunt them until my dying breath. I will disassemble and disintegrate their points beyond recognition. I will methodologically and logically flay them. I do not respect them, because they do not respect me, nor do they respect logic. I tried to be more subtle and understanding in the beginning, then I was essentially laughed at for saying that straight white men can also be discriminated against. I only try to play nice once with a person.

I get downright furious when I see people arrogantly proclaim that "you can't be bigoted/racist to straight white men" like it's actually a valid point. It's ridiculous, and it follows absolutely no logical path of thought. You actually have to suppress logic to believe that statement, because even on the surface it fails by definition.

People used to talk about black/homosexuals/women the exact same way. I'll be goddamned if we regress back to that way of thinking again.

I agree with the OP. Whenever I see gay used this way, or F**got, N**ger, etc I instantly choose punish.

When they use the word "gay" it's derogatory, because these kids grow up thinking that gays are a joke.. and if you're thinking that they are.. you're a joke... if you put homosexuality in the category of pedophilia, or any of the like.. you're a joke. If you're hateful, and bashful, or you condone hateful and bashfulness, SUCH AS using derogatory terms, or bullying, or even indirectly bullying a group of people.. you're a joke. So take the hate and **** off of the internet.. and sell your computer. (Directed at all of the little children that put the message I was trying to send, down.)

There probably is or has been discrimination against virtually all possible groups at one point or another, but I don't think the OP ever made the point that hate against any one group was worse, more prevalent, or anything else. The direct quote was "I've been getting it a lot lately", which speaks to the OP's personal experience, and makes no judgment towards the validity of whether or not any group has it worse than anybody.

Again, this is not about any one kind of hate or any one group being treated differently. This is a general statement that hate is bad, and specifically-targeted hate is also bad, and it's the kind of thing that we as a community should not stand for. This means not only voting to punish in Tribunal cases where we see these kinds of actions, but also speaking up in-game.

A caveat - speaking up in-game does not mean starting a fight, being abrasive, or trying to out-logic your teammate in a heated debate while battling on the Fields of Justice - you still have to work as a team to achieve your goal of destroying your opponents' Nexus. What I do is make a quick comment saying "hey, I would appreciate it if you used a different word choice next time". If it happens again, drop it the issue, and consider ignoring the offender or reporting them after the game is over.

Like Tiza said, you may have a nazi or a republican on your team, but you still have a battle to win.


Mute them and get back to the fight, and report their bad behavior to your commanding superiors to handle at the tribunal.

I'm gonna go the ignorant route and post without reading the actual post and instead go onto acknowledging only the thread name with my response.


If you don't like what other people have to say, simply ignore them. The mute button is there for a reason, and openly disputing other people's behavior (especially on the internet) will usually get you into more trouble than it's worth.

Let Riot and the Tribunal police people's poor behavior, and ignore it any other time you see it. Posting things like this will only fuel other people's fire, and in the end nothing good will ever come from it.

Im Mexican and almost 1/3 games i play there is racist people, i really don't know why they hate... i just use /ignore and report them when the game ends, thats the only solution i find.

btw: when i start a match i always say : "Good luck and have fun everypony" and that also makes people rage O.o

This is pretty much what I do. A lot of people don't really 'get' how insulting/upsetting using anti-gay slang is because its used so much within gaming circles. I have never had anyone argue about it with me, and generally most apologise. I think a lot of issues can be avoided if people were more willing to discuss it openly in a non-aggressive way as opposed to hitting the report button at the end of the game.

In saying that if someone is being blatantly jerkish (and most of these guys tend to have a more colourful vocab rather than restricting themselves to anti-gay slurs) then I report.
