Hi! The following wall of text is me just being genuinely curious about a few things. I have a tendency to enjoy minor mechanical details and small changes to games, especially once with as much potential for strange interactions as League of Legends. I frequent and contribute to the LoL wiki, testing things out whenever they seem off. Because of this I have 2 sets of questions for the lot of you, the first regarding Tiamat and the second regarding Tristana.
First, on the subject of Tiamat. In this post http://na.leagueoflegends.com/board/...96950#22096950 and the one after it, ricklessabandon talked about the mechanics of Tiamat and there was some confusion about whether the splash was true damage or physical. It seems to me that ricklessabandon implied that only the original target's armor matters and everyone else takes damage based on the damage dealt to the main target of one's attacks.
A few quick tests (take a melee character, give him/her 2 Tiamats, attack something that has a different armor value from something right next to it) show that this isn't true and each target affected by the Tiamat splash has it's armor mitigate the damage separately.
Am I misunderstanding the wording of ricklessabandon's post, did Tiamat's functionality change slightly in the past 3 months, or was the post erroneous?
Still on the subject of Tiamat, Gangplank's Parrrrrrrrrrley gives you bonus gold off of things killed by the Tiamat splash, but Nasus's Siphoning Strike doesn't give you bonus damage from minions killed by the splash. Was this a design/balance decision, or an unintended set of interactions with the item?
Second, I have questions about Tristana's Explosive Shot and when/why it got ninja buffed for AP Tristana players everywhere (or if what I'm about to talk about is just a bug or two). Explosive Shot's passive explosion has always been shown to deal only a flat amount of magic damage, while the active portion has a fantastic AP ratio.
However, while the tooltip remained unchanged, at some point a hidden +0.25 AP ratio was snuck in the passive splash damage. This, added to the fact that as of the last patch (I think the last patch at least) Tristana makes things explode no matter how she kills them (rather than with just basic attacks) led to the video from this thread: http://na.leagueoflegends.com/board/....php?t=2285824
In the video the thread in question links to the Tristana has 155 AP and kills 9 minions that surround Ahri which could be contributing up to 155 * 0.25 * 9 = 348.75 magic damage that AP Tristana would never have had without that hidden AP ratio. Add to that the fact that none of those minions would have exploded without the other change and we have a huge buff that AP Trist players didn't necessarily know about. My questions on this: why/when were these changes made, and why was there never a tooltip update or a patch note about this?
Upon re-reading, I realize that my tone may be a touch accusatory and for this I apologize. I'm seriously just genuinely curious about little things like this. If anyone manages to respond, thank you in advance.
TL;DR: Tiamat is a weird item that acts funny, AP Trist got a significant but secret buff to Explosive Shot's passive portion, and I'm interested in both of these things and would appreciate a red response.
