@Riot, Does "pushing the bar" mean pushing my wallet too?

I like how Montag has dodged every single mention of the fact the last 520 skin was nearly a year ago, and instead only replies to the same kind of posts.
I think it shows it all.

I don't like the idea of spending $25 on a skin. Not for moral, ethical, or any other reason then skins just make you look pretty. I would rather buy new champs then make the ones I have look different. On the other hand, if you wanna make your champs look different more power to you, if you want to pay money for it then do it. PFE is super expensive, but people are going to buy it because they want to, a skin is worth only as much as people will pay. Charging a lot of money for something people want and will pay for is called commerce, and its why Riot will live on as a company.

I believe since they are pushing the "bar" to such high pricese, other legendary skins that are not so legendary SHOULD get their price reduced. I'm sure if you buy a car that was 5 years ago, it would be MUCH cheaper. Not the same price.

If that's your goal then you're messing up. If you wanna be competitive in ranked, you need to have a few champions for every role so you can counter pick. Most champions require a couple different rune page options also.

I don't see how forcing your customers to play seemingly endless amounts of normal games before playing ranked if they want to buy the "optional" skins is really equally functional for them. If you spend money for IP boosts to become more competitive faster, then you aren't really going to be buying skins or vice versa.

Non-Ezreal players are seeing the "Value" in this sale, and buying it even though they've never played Ez in their lives. All because it's on sale for only 4 days until it goes back up to 3250.

Capitalizing on impulse =/= Greed how exactly?

I know this is off topic, but can you say the same for champion releases? Releasing them all at 6300 for a year +, is that not greed? =/

I made this thread:
http://na.leagueoflegends.com/board/....php?t=2306282

In order to see how people are feeling in regards to 520 skins and what they want out of them.

It's called a vanity item for a reason. There's people on WoW That pay $100+ for a digital item because it's slightly different than the one everyone else has.

That's all PFE will ever be. A vanity item. Because it's a vanity item i will never buy it. If you were able to do similar things for every champ and put them at 975 i GarenTee you would make more in the long run. With 1/3 the cost people would be much more likely to buy it and see it as reasonable. And probably over triple your sales.

Our last was, I believe, Hired Gun Graves, 8 months ago, who is currently 520. I haven't responded to these directly because I think they fall into the idea I've presented before that we'll always have skins available at lots of different price points.

I won't speak to our future plans for new skins because, honestly, I don't know them. But it's bad business for us to not to cover a wide swath of price points, and it's not great for you as players. We will always cover a wide range of prices, either by releasing them low or via sales or other mechanisms. That's where we stand with 520 RP skins.

There are two problems with your analogy (which I agree with in principal btw):

1) It's a digital product. It doesn't go through the same devaluation as a car on a lot for 5 years. Yes, there are better products (skins) than the older ones, but there isn't less value in the older skins, just more value in the new ones. That said...

2) The price points are fine ONLY IF newer skins get released at higher price points. If we assume the prices of skins don't devalue (that is, they don't deteriorate, and are always usable), then the only thing that keeps them from lowering their cost is the sheer volume of skins that are not produced.

Riot churns out X skins a year. It seems like (Please correct me if I'm wrong) that they aren't churning out as many skins as they used to. Theoretically, if they're going to release new skins with new voices and particle effects, they either need to

A) Make them more than 975 (weren't legendaries supposed to be better than the standard skins?) or
B) Lower older skins price. And price the new ones at 975.

EDITED for ambiguity.
