Babysitting or ingame "mods" as it were would work. How efficient however would need to be seen.

Lyte,

I seriously wish I had more time to do the tribunal then I currently do. Once I start my new rotation of a week on and week off, I'll possibly have more time.

I've worked in healthcare for 5+ years now in many different departments (longest in the ED) and you find yourself getting jaded due to all the people coming in for bogus reasons, drug seeking, or the OD's or ETOH intox patients. It wears on you after a while. I find that with the tribunal a lot. SSDD syndrome. I used to love doing the tribunal and did it as often as I could and would comment quite a lot on the tribunal forums.

Lets start with the forums: Every day its the same thing over and over again. I actually created a premade reply to people seeking to why they were banned as I was tired of typing in the same answer day after day. Or you have people ranting about how bad the tribunal is because they were banned. It gets old very quick and you get discouraged and start thinking poorly of the community.

The Tribunal: I see it doing what needs to be done; however, i've run into cases where I've seen that players name before in a previous case several months back. I actuallyl used to keep a spreadsheet of who the player was, their offense(s), why I pardoned or punished, and if someone with a similar name came into the forums to rant. I did this for my multiple accounts. I stopped once it reached ten pages as I just couldnt' take it anymore. I truly started to belive that this community is toxic by nature. I stopped doing the tribunal on a regular basis and took a leave from the tribunal forums as it was making me jaded. I truly love this game and think the tribunal is doing its job; however, it is disheartening to see the same player several times in front of the tribunal for the same thing then rant on the forums about their ban (or see a smurf they created with a near exact duplicate name end up in the tribunal). I seriously wish there was a way you guys could either increase ban time based on the severity they hindered the game for others, or allow the tribunal members to attach notes to a case so that we could talk about it amongst ourselves to see if others had the same feeling about a players actions (but only see it while we are judging that case and not be able to return to it to see how others felt, only at that current time of judging ( and not show our vote to others)). Giving the tribunal a space to comment would allow riot to see our thought processes and for those really bad cases would allow riot to forward the tribunals thoughts to the player as to what we thought was not appropriate leaving little wiggle room for the offender.

It doesn't seem like there should be a carrot. You shouldn't be rewarded for doing what you're supposed to do. Do I get a tax rebate for never being arrested? No.

Is the playerbase as a whole that bad that you need to reward good behavior to fix it?

Just get rid of the bad, playing the game should be enough of a reward.

Also, something interesting might be to allow players to opt in to get a weekly e-mail report about how many games they were reported in and for what reasons. Can be specific games with details or just an overview. I'm sure this data is already stored somewhere so would be easy to send out.

tbh, tribunal also does give a little too little information. I'd love a timeline of deaths, maybe consumables bought, etc.

Agreed, a timeline of bought items would be nice. Some people troll build and then sell it off for standard items right before the game ends.

One thing is been a ****** to people and another is to retaliate which is what I think I do, but that is just my opinion. Maybe if I was in the ELO i belong and not ELO hell where the umbest thing can happend I would be 100% positive which I am in some games even after a lose.
I guess I just don't understand how raging at someone who id doing poorly is "retaliating".

If someone is doing something to lose the game, they will either learn to do better because they are tired of losing, never get better, or quit the game (again, because they are tired of losing). How does raging at them in chat get them to perform any better? How does raging in chat do anything other than make you look like a toxic player?

For instance, I had a free week Ren who was lucky if he could find his lane. He went something like 1-10-?. He was obviously bad. Raging at him wouldn't have helped in the slightest. When I got matched with him in the next game and he picked Ren again, all I did was tell him to play carefully and gave him a few words of encouragement. He still didn't do great, but it was a much better game than before.

Also, this entire argument hinges on the "when I get to the elo I'm supposed to be at" mentality. What makes you think that you aren't already there? We all evaluate our skills to be higher than they typically are. You are no different.

in all seriousness, anyone that managed a permanban at any point in time is someone i would rather not have in my games. the odds are against them being a consistently positive force after "proving" themselves when they knew they were totally under radar. of COURSE that guy didn't rage. he was trying to prove a point. and MAYBE he'd be so grateful that he got his main account back that he wouldn't rage anymore... but my god, just don't get banned in the first place :|

I was banned I think 3-4 times.

Last match I've played with Renekton, first time. I ended up 0/9/0. I wasn't intentionally feeding. I was just making horrible decisions on my game due to not being familiars with that champ.

I probably got reported by everyone. Do I deserve these reports? I don't think so. Will I get banned on that singular match? NO, but It will add like many others and I'll get eventually banned (it was normal game)

How can you ban the players that are naturally just trying to adapt to what the community is? Also, LoL's community is hypocritical in the sense (and this is proven with how many 'omg my team were noobs, why do they drop my elo so much blah blah' threads that pop up.) so the actual number of trolls and flamers is misleading because part of the Tribunal is a bunch of corrupt players that haven't been banned yet, and the people who report probably had just as much of a part in it as the person who's being judged.
About 1.5% of players are banned, so to be banned you actually have to be the bottom of the barrel when it comes to behavior.

Secondly, the 'toxic' players are rarely the ones voting in the Tribunal. We check these things.
