My main disagreement with "Infinite Light" is that it does not seem to fit in with Lux's character.

Lux's explanation of a double rainbow reveals a lot about her character in my opinion.

Prismatic Barrier and Lucent Singularity sound like names she came up with on her own without premeditation. Complicated. Almost unnecessary synonyms for much simpler terms.

"Finales Funkeln" always fit for me. I felt as if she wanted you to inquire as to what she meant by such a phrase. She wants to share her knowledge.

"Infinite Light" sounds too simple. A Lux who named one of her own fantastical skills "Infinite Light" would probably administer a much more bland explanation of rainbows.
It just doesn't fit her personality.

I realize "Light Binding" is ALSO a simple skill name. To take this into consideration is to acknowledge as well that "Light" would be used for two skill names. I don't think Lux is that redundant. She seems like someone with a whole lot of synonyms - many that you would never use - up her sleeves.

No matter what I'm still going to call the ultimate Finales Funkeln. Infinate Light sounds bad and doesn't describe the ability very much. Finales Funkeln has grown on me and while it may be something I'm used to I still feel it is far more appropriate than Infinate Light. "Final Spark" as its literal translation feels far more appropriate than something that is as cliche as what it's now called. It may be in another language but so what, its eye catching and original.

Okay some people seem to have mistaken that I want the name change in the first place. I don't want them to change it -AT ALL- but if they feel they must change it, what's wrong with Final Sparkle? And no, funkeln isn't spark, funke is spark, funkeln is sparkle.

Thank you! That is exactly what I was feeling and couln't put into words. Lux has indeed always felt like a smart character to me, used to using her superior intellect to do things no one else can. That is exactly what is missing from the new name!

Please man PLEASE change it to something that doesn't bluntly destroy the reference. If you want it to not be German sure w/e but at least make it something catchy. Infinite Light is something you visualize when you meditate; naming a killer death ray after that is just as insulting as removing the reference.

I'm sure they would be very helpful in the pronunciation of a german phrase.

I only called you out for saying it because I disagreed with what the poster I was responding to said. Pointing out that part of your post was relevant to that discussion. Sorry, I disagree with the approach taken on the subject. But, as I've said before that's my opinion and we all have them.

Being a Touhou reference with legs shouldn't be a whole character. She's Garen's sister and a light mage in Demacia. She's cheerful, positive and a breath of fresh air from the seriousness that surrounds her brother and comrades.

I get that Infinite Light wasn't maybe the best choice - but Lux should be her own character with her own references. A better example is True Grit - it's not only representative of Graves' personality, but also a nod to the movie of the same name and the character archetype that Jeff Bridges plays. When you do references, they need to work well even if you do not know the reference.
