But the idea is that the effort invested into that champion would be better spent elsewhere, if you are looking for elo. Not saying you are.
I went through a kick where I wanted to master master yi. This went for about two weeks, and I got fairly good at him. Then I hit a brick wall, and stopped improving. I played a game of nocturne (who had been released for about 2 weeks at that time), and recognized that I did better than I was doing on yi. I played some nocturne, and lo and behold, I was winning more with nocturne, because he was simply more viable than yi. Since then, my champion choices have largely been a path of least resistance, as opposed to brute forcing something that doesn't work that well.
Removing options sucks though, as a general rule, and that is definitely happening.
