Asian Invasion? What does this mean for the future of the LoL competitive scene?

Azubu Frost, NaJin, and iG have a combined record of 9-1 so far in the tournament (single loss is attributed to AZF facing iG in the very first match). Also, let's not forget that TSM is 80% Asian.

The Chinese DOTA 2 competitive scene: 3 out of the 4 top teams in the world are Chinese (including the #1 ranked team). The Koreans are unquestionably dominant in SC2 and now they want to take over LoL too (currently 3rd most popular esport behind DOTA 2 and SC2).

Until the mindset about professional gaming changes here in the US, this will continue to happen. Whether they are asian or not makes no difference....they are just the majority in most pro gaming scenes in the world atm. With maybe the exception of competitive FPS.

The day you can hit celebrity status here in the states for being a Starcraft prodigy, maybe things will change. Sure, any US team that is competing wants to win. But when you get the kind of recognition that Korean players get, they are playing for much higher stakes than we are.

Of course there's a difference between "wanting to win" and "playing to win", and there's an even bigger gap to "preparing to win". Time and again it's been said that "soloqueue is nothing like an organized team game", but still many of the top American and European teams spend a vast majority of their time doing just that - soloqueuing. There have been major improvements here, but there's still a long way to go.

It's easier to stream solo queue then it is to stream scrims which can take forever to set up. A lot of the major American teams have their players stream 5-6+ hours a day so their sponsors can get coverage. Much easier to just queue up solo or duo than it is to try and grab 10 people together from two teams to Scrim.

Nothing is going to change about that, NA players will continue to stream solo queue and scrim in private.

NA teams can't think outside the box, their game is very predictable since they believe in the allmigthy meta.
Asian teams in the other hand simply use that as an advantage to destroy them.
They also have better micro in teamfights.

The US still has more carriers and more fighters. Do I care if it's all Asian teams? No, I don't. I just want to watch good team fights. Do I want to see a crappy team in the finals? Please no!
