Magic resist is such a useless stat.

Mumu gets a FoN, the best MR item in the game. Mumu now thinks he is safe from magic damage. He has 124.5 MR now. However, Annie has Sorc Shoes, Haunting Guise, Abyssal, and Void Staff. Mumu now has 38.7 MR, less than his base amount at level 18.

poor amumu, he was afk for 15 minutes while annie is 12/0/0 with 200 cs.

except because Annie has no deathcap, she dosn't have that much AP so she won't do that much damage

also, % and flat penetration do not stack, you get one or the other

Why would Annie bother with Guise or Abyssal when she has a Void Staff...?

Incorrect. You apply flat penetration, then percentage.

They do. The flat penetration applies first, then the % penetration is taken from the remainder.

Voidstaff does less when there is less MR to deal with, so the flat magic penetration would fair off better by itself then with void. This kind goes with Armor Pen too.

EDIT: And some MR is better than no MR, also include Banshees Veil as well
