Morello, or any Rioter, are there any plans for updating Rammus right now? Do you think the itemization and jungle updates will help Rammus?
My thoughts are that Rammus isn't really bad per say, but that he is pretty much outclassed at everything that he does. Here are some changes that I think could make him a bit more viable right now as a jungler. Fair warning, I have no idea how it would effect him as a non-jungler.
Q- Powerball - I think if you made this ignore unit collision with non-nuetral creep it would help him a ton! Right now if I want to gank him I have to powerball flash onto the enemy mid, unless they are just shoving the lane like crazy. Most people understand how to manage lanes now though, so you don't see this as much except on champs that shove and then go gank. Top lane is a bit easier to gank if you are on blue side, but if you are on red side, a bit of the same issues unless you can sneak into lane brush. Bot lane requires an early oracles, but since you aren't really guaranteed kills it's a bit daunting having to get that oracles that early.
W - Defensive Ball Curl - This skill is pretty much dependent on landing his E if you want to do any damage with it. I think it would be cool if it acted a bit like Sion's shield. It would give you a shield that absorbed x amount of damage. If it didn't get "popped" after a certain point it would explode and deal damage based on how much health the shield had left. That way it would encourage people to attack rammus and let him do his job as a tank. If they ignored him, then he's still going to do a decent amount of aoe damage. Possibly the damage could scale with his Armor like it does now.
E - Puncturing Taunt - This skill is mostly fine I think. I think it would be nice to rework it so that it can't be used to pull someone like a Skarner ult. Right now you can taunt someone at a decent range and then just force them to walk back to your team. It's not quite as bad as a Skarner ult, but its close. Maybe make it max 1.5 second, and then an auto attack from rammus will increase it by .5 seconds to a max of 3 seconds like it is now. Not really a change that is needed, but does force you to make a choice, and more choices are better, imo.
R - Tremors - I absolutely love this ability! Awesome that it works on towers! I think the only thing you might want to do here is remove the AP scaling and make it scale off of MR. That's just my preference though, and would probably have to make it not scale that hard or tone down the base damage.
Passive - Spiked Shell - I think this passive is a bit on the low end of power level, but I'm OK with it. Possibly remove it and replace it with the passive damage return of his DBC would be cool though. Would make some sense too since someone trying to attack him would hurt themselves on his spiked shell.
So there's some ideas. Its not balanced at all, just some cool ideas. I'm sure you guys at Riot have plans for him, but I haven't heard anyone, and we all know that Rammus himself isn't going to raise any concerns!
