We already have Galio, Shen, Taric, Teemo, and Zilean.
Even Blitzcrank and Alistar if you consider them to be male and supports.
Females being: Janna, Karma, Lulu, Lux, Morgana, Nami, Soraka, Kayle, Nidalee, and Sona.

I do see your point, but personally, I prefer playing female support champs.

Galio, Shen, Alistar are tanks.

Teemo is a carry.

Taric is a Female, or at least batting for the other team so doesn't count as Male imo.

Zilean is the only one who could be counted as a "dedicated" support, and he is pretty bad at it.

Characters can play different roles.

And zilean can be a good support if used properly. That speed boost is amazing.
