We can't keep playing at 200+ ms pings. Us Aussies have to live with the fact that we can only play some champs at 50% effectiveness, such as; blitz, ezreal, lee sin, brand. The delay causes us to have to predict enemy movement far further ahead.
I'm sure an Aussie league would give the NA scene a run for its money, just let us actually play on LAN speeds.
Riot, do something.

I can write a huge (several paragraph) post detailing why it actually is quite difficult to build a server farm in Australia, but I can't be bothered for this thread. The reason that many smaller games have been able to do it is BECAUSE they are smaller games. For Riot to introduce a server, it would probably cost them tens of times more than it costs Valve to maintain a server for Dota 2. For a game as large as LoL, we're talking about a huge amount of money here.
I want an Australian server, I really do, I want it to be on a VPN linked to the NA server, I want a 50ms ping, I want all of these things, however I don't realistically see Riot doing it simply due to the cost. Perhaps we are overlooking indirect benefits that Riot would experience about 12 months after introducing a server, but I also can't be bothered writing that up for this thread.
