Ive been getting these waits to log in a lot recently, always over 9k people tryin to log in. Isnt there a time when it makes sense to invest in a new login server? It gets very frustrating between the log in wait time and the long updates that do little to change the game... at some point if this isnt fixed the player base will drop off. $30 for HoN doesnt seem so bad if i can actually get into the game when I want to.

This is likely because we were reconfiguring the login queue - it would've updated the numbers for you hopefully on the next position check.

Please check out our thread on this issue. The service actually looks pretty stable - our login queue was triggering as a safeguard. We will be watching to make sure it remains this way and relaxing the constraints.
